Celebrating 15 Years of Possibilities

Volunteer Spotlight: Why Being a BUDDY Changes More Than You Think

Volunteering as a BUDDY with the League of YES is simple on paper, you’re paired one-on-one with an athlete and support them on the field. But the impact goes far beyond the game.

A BUDDY is there to encourage, assist, and celebrate every moment whether it’s helping a player round the bases, swing a bat, or simply feel confident being part of a team. What starts as “helping” quickly becomes something more meaningful: a real connection.

Over the past 15 years, more than 10,000 volunteers have stepped onto the field as BUDDY’s each one playing a role in creating something bigger than themselves.

What surprises most volunteers is what they take away from it. Perspective shifts. Patience grows. And the sense of purpose is immediate.

The League of YES has built something powerful an environment where inclusion isn’t talked about, it’s practiced every single day.

Join us this year in celebrating 15 years of possibilities all because of YOU!

If you’ve ever thought about giving your time, this is a place where it truly matters.

Show up. Be present. Be a BUDDY.

You’ll make a difference and you’ll leave changed.

We also give 4 hours of community service to the students that need them.

In Memory of Coach Rob

IN MEMORY OF COACH ROB
With heavy hearts, we remember and honor Rob Meyer a devoted dad, a passionate coach, and a truly dear friend to all of us at the League of YES. From the very beginning, over 15 years ago, Rob was there. He didn’t just show up, he showed up with purpose, with kindness, and with an unwavering belief in every athlete who stepped onto the field. His journey began as a father, showing up with love and determination for his son, Nich. Rob’s dedication to Nich was inspiring he made sure his son, and every child like him, had the opportunity to play, to belong, and to shine. As a coach, Rob had a remarkable way of making each player feel seen, valued, and capable. He celebrated every small victory and turned moments into memories that will last a lifetime. He wasn’t just coaching a game he was building confidence, joy, and community.

But beyond the field, Rob was so much more. He was the kind of friend who lifted others up, who gave his time generously, and who led by example. His commitment to inclusion, his warm spirit, and his genuine care for our community helped shape the League of YES into what it is today. Rob’s legacy lives on in every game played, every smile shared, and every life he touched  especially through Nich, who was at the heart of it all. This 15th season will be dedicated to him.
